FAQ

Questions? We've Got Answers

  • Both coatings provide a durable, professional finish, but the main differences are cure time, UV resistance, and flexibility. Polyaspartic cures much faster, is 100% UV stable to prevent yellowing, and offers greater flexibility and resistance to impact and hot-tire pickup. Epoxy takes longer to fully cure and can yellow with prolonged UV exposure, but it remains an extremely durable and cost-effective base layer.

  • A hybrid system combines the strengths of both coatings. It uses a thick, moisture-mitigating epoxy base coat that bonds exceptionally well to properly prepared concrete, then finishes with a polyaspartic topcoat for added UV protection, scratch resistance, durability, and faster return-to-service times.

  • Not immediately. Polyaspartic floors are typically ready for foot traffic within 12–24 hours and vehicle traffic after about 72 hours. Epoxy generally requires 24–48 hours before foot traffic and 5–7 days before driving or parking vehicles on the surface.

  • Yes. Polyaspartic coatings can be installed year-round and cure in a wide range of temperatures. Epoxy requires warmer conditions—typically between 50°F and 90°F—to cure properly, making polyaspartic a better option for cold-weather installations.
